Highs:
-Participation of students for spirit events
-Dodgeball
Lows:
-Student body belittling Student Council's involvement in the school
So what can we do to change the lows?:
-Dances: host more and advertise more and as much as possible
-Find new venues
-If the venue is expensive and we have to charge more, make it a dance that you want to pay for!
-Meeting with Key Club and have dates of dances set in stone
-Possible organization of Senior Week(?)
-Picnic, toga day, senior privileges, ect
One Day One Goal:
-Possible T-Shirt contest
-International food
-Essentially make it bigger and better this year!
Strawberry Social:
-Present clubs at Sturgis to the incoming Freshman
-Establish representatives from each club to introduce and inform about each club
The Yalden is head of Advisory next year! What can we do to help?:
-Make advisory a fun place to go rather than a bore
-Make meaningful activities that students will want to be involved with
-Start friendly competitions between advisories!
-e.g) Apples to Apples
Mr. Heiser wants us to attempt to assemble a spirit activity every month!
Send me all of your ideas as to what you think we should do for October - May!
Meeting other IB students in New England!:
A possible beach cleanup with IB students in and around New England is put out there. This is a CAS opportunity, of course, but it's also a way to meet more people that are going through the same stress as you! More to come.
IMPORTANT:
-Next meeting is: Tuesday July 19th!
If you cannot attend it isn't a big deal! We will be meeting at Sturgis and where the meeting will be held, and what time is up in the air. We may get some pizza so be sure you bring some money to pitch in! For your "homework" I'd like to compile a list of things you can contribute to what Student Council can do to a.) be more known for what we do and make this school year better and b.)activities you'd like to see throughout the year as well as in your advisories! Before the 19th I'll compile a list and put them on a GoogleDoc. All your ideas and they will be presented at the next meeting. Your participation in the idea process is much appreciated! Can't wait to see all of you on the 19th!
